About Us
Trusted by Farmers for Over 50 Years
We know what we are talking about because we’ve done it in the family for generations!
NC Equipment was founded as North Canterbury Equipment in 1965, and taken over by the current owners the Bassett family in 1990. They came from farming and mechanical backgrounds which provided the experience as well as a shared passion for machinery. Four members of the next generation have now joined the company and continued the tradition of being a trusted provider of assured quality equipment, trusted experience and world class service solutions to the farmers and contractors of New Zealand and beyond.
Forging strong, trusted relationships with the farming community over that time has made the business what it is today; strong, respected and valued for its ethics and honest and trusted family values. We are located on more than half a hectare on State Highway One in Amberley, with a 1600 sqm building which consists of; offices, showroom and service workshops. We also have a branch located on SH1 in Ashburton. The core of our business is buying and selling of all farm machinery, both new and used sourced from both NZ Manufacturers and Overseas.
Vision
Through continuous research, development, and investment in our people, products and clients, we will be the preferred supplier of quality equipment and continue to form relationships across generations of farmers to help them grow sustainably and feed the world.
In doing so we will provide a good return for our shareholders, future generations and charities whilst maintaining a happy safe work environment for our employees.
Mission
To form relationships across generations of farmers to help them grow sustainably and feed the world.

We do what we say: we have been in business since the sixties and know that noting less than honesty and integrity has ensured we are still here today.
